 A man has died and 13 people were injured when a car collided with a night bus in London. The man, believed to be in his 20s, was one of four men in the car when it was involved in an accident with a bus in Clapton, east London, at around 2.20am today. The three others in the car were also injured, one critically, while 10 people on the N38 bus were treated as “walking wounded”, Scotland Yard said, and some were taken to hospital. The bus was travelling towards Whipps Cross when the accident happened in Lea Bridge Road, at the junction with Essex Wharf. Paramedics treated bus passengers before a number of the injured were taken to hospital by another bus. That's quite sad. Are there any reports on whose fault is was? By looking at the picture, it looks like the bus swerved, suggesting it was the car's fault. |

Such of a shock to have heard Arriva has now had one of it's NRMs damaged in an accident but again I do pay my respects to the injured and person killed.

I heard there were 2 cars involved. one being the Aldi in this and another drove off. In addition, the rekt car was supposedly doing about 100mph(?) in a race. My guess is that since there is a hill where this took place. This bus came over the hill and the Aldi car may have not been able to react in time at such speed.. which would explain why the bus swung over to the side of the bus. But, lets wait for the investigation results, if that happens publicly.

Personally, I would be against decisions to get rid of the NRMs of the 38, it's was clearly not Arriva London fault as the car collided into it. I do hope this bus can be fixed and brought back into service soon.
